Santa Ynez boys basketball used a hot first quarter to take down Carpinteria by a score of 55-46 on Wednesday.
The Pirates jumped out to a 21-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, staving off the Warriors’ comeback efforts throughout the game.

For Carpinteria, Sebastian Reed paced the offense with 15 points while also making an impact on the defensive side of the ball.
Aiden Alcaraz (11) and Carlo Suarez (10) joined Reed in double digits for the Warriors.
Carpinteria will compete in the Nordhoff Tournament next week while Santa Ynez is set to take on Santa Maria next Tuesday.
