Santa Ynez High girls golf took down Dos Pueblos in a non-league matchup on Wednesday at Alisal River Course, a par 36.
The Pirates combined for a team score of 244 while the Chargers shot 272 as a unit, despite Dos Pueblos’ Sagarika Manian earning medalist honors with her four-over-par 40.
Mackenzie Phelan led Santa Ynez, as she was just one stroke behind Manian at 41 on the day.
Phelan was followed by Addison West (49), Katherine Becerra (51), Caralyn Barber (51), Sierra Freedman (52) and Kacy Caplan (58).
As for the Chargers, Manian was joined by teammates Celeste Alcaraz (49), Sophia Elena Lara (56), Angela Pagliano (58), Sophie Ralston (69) and Sophia Morales (69).
“I want to commend Sophia and Sophie for coming to a tough Alisal River course for the first time and staying focused the whole round,” Dos Pueblos coach Dan Choi said. “It is always fun to play Santa Ynez, their team is always very well coached.”
The Chargers (8-4, 4-1 Channel League) will host Santa Barbara at Glen Annie on Thursday for a rivalry matchup.
