Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy (SYVCA) for TK-8th grade will hold its annual Fundraising Auction & Dinner, Saturday, Oct. 7 at Rancho San Antonio in Buellton.

Since 1981, SYVCA has offered students a rigorous academic education embedded with Christian values. Students also benefit from athletic and recreational activities, opportunities for creative expression in the fine arts, and small class sizes.

“Most don’t realize that the Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy enjoys a 40-plus year legacy of developing students on the foundation of a Christian education,” said Curt Fiore, chairman, SYVCA Board of Directors.

“We are blessed with a first-class faculty and principal who truly care about the success and legacy of the current student body,” he said.

“The generosity realized in our annual fundraising auction is the sole driver of our ability to afford financial assistance to the many families who want to call SYVCA home for their child’s education,” Fiore said.

SYVCA’s Fundraising Auction & Dinner plays a key role in supporting the school, as it is the sole driver of its scholarship program, which facilitates tuition assistance for children seeking to attend the academy.

“Approximately 45% of our students benefit from our scholarship program, which helps manage tuition costs,” said Scott Carleton, principal. “As we operate without government funding, our scholarship program relies solely on the financial contributions of those in our community.

“It’s through their priceless investments in our program that we’re able to continue nurturing, inspiring, and educating each one of our students.”

SYVCA invites local businesses and individuals to attend this year’s Auction & Dinner, and to support the school’s mission through financial donations. SYVCA is classified as a 501(c)(3) organization and all contributions are tax-deductible.

Mientje D’Arelli, a new parent to the school, said, “As a family, we were drawn to the Christian Academy because of the authentic people, the strong sense of community, its faith-centric curriculum, and its educational framework that aligns with our values.”
