The Santa Ynez Valley Concert series will present its third Young Artist Showcase, 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at St Mark’s in the Valley Church, 2901 Nojoqui Ave., Los Olivos.

The free concert will feature students, ages 21 and under, from Santa Barbara County private teaching studios, who were recommended by their respective teachers for this honor. No tickets are required to attend the concert.

“Music education is at the forefront of the mission of the Santa Ynez Valley Concert Series,” said artistic director, Robert Cassidy. “Due to increasing popularity, this season we are presenting both fall and spring Young Artist Showcases featuring solo performances.

“This is a wonderful event for the whole family. Music is alive and living in Santa Barbara County”

The private teachers who nominated students for the program are: Vahid and Kathryn Imani from Song in My Heart Studios in Solvang; Deborah Mele from Santa Barbara; Julie Davis from Santa Barbara; Emily Lanzone, from San Luis Obispo; Pascal Solomon from Santa Barbara; and Cassidy.

St. Mark’s offers the SYV Concert Series as a community arts enrichment program. All are invited to come and enjoy the non-sectarian, non-religious concerts. Students always attend for free.
