Santa Barbara took 12-6 decisions in both boys and girls tennis over Cabrillo on Friday.

The Dons’ girls were paced by sweeps from No. 1 singles player Sophia Ostovany and the No. 1 doubles team of Charlotte Ryan and Koko Kelly. Ostovany didn’t lose a game in her three sets. “An impressive performance,” said coach Danny Echt.

Santa Ynez’s No. 3 singles player Jazz Feeley won two sets to lead the Pirates’ scoring.

The win keeps Santa Barbara’s Channel League record perfect at 6-0.

The boys got sweeps from No. 1 singles player Kai Yakushko, winning two sets without dropping a game, and the No. 2 doubles team of Andreas Schuetz and Makaha Baer.

“Both Andreas and Makaha are so athletically gifted,” Echt said. “They were flying around the net today hitting angle volleys and at times served up some huge bombs.”

The Santa Barbara boys are now 4-2 on the season.
