The Santa Barbara Foundation (SBF), in October, worked to provide voting resources by region on its website SBFoundation.org/vote.

“Although the Santa Barbara Foundation does not endorse any proposition or candidate, we encourage civic engagement among all of our community members,” said Jordan Killebrew, SBF’s director of communications.

“Connecting with our public transit to make maps and identify transit lines to ballot boxes seemed important, and I hope folks use the resources available in our Voting Toolkit,” Killebrew said.

The SBF’s election resources include Voting Toolkits for social media, in English and Spanish. Voting Toolkits are region-specific and provide scripts for social media PSA videos, informational voting graphics, and maps identifying ballot box locations, some with public transit information.

“When we received the list of ballot box locations, we were delighted because Santa Barbara MTD has transit lines that can get voters safely to ballot boxes,” said Hilary Blackerby, MTD planning and marketing manager. “At this time we are not collecting fees and I hope this encourages community members to go and vote.”
