Santa Barbara High boys volleyball coach Chad Arenson said his team played its “best game of the season” in a 25-15, 25-21, 25-19 sweep of Valencia on Tuesday in a non-league match at J.R. Richards Gym.
Setter Peter Tebbe, running a 5-1 offense, provided 30 assists for the Dons and effectively spread the wealth. Alex Rottman finished with 10 kills and four blocks, Andrew Douglas had nine kills with a .692 hitting percentage and Sam Meister and Kylan O’Connor each added seven kills.
Meister’s potent serving propelled the Dons to their 10-point first-set victory. He had four aces.
“Libero Matt Suh made some incredible digs and created lots of points for our offense. Riley Roach passed nails with a perfect 3.0 passing average and pitched in 3 blocks,” said Arneson.
Santa Barbara (6-4) plays at Santa Ynez in a Channel League match on Thursday.
