Santa Barbara Councilwoman Meagan Harmon
Santa Barbara Councilwoman Meagan Harmon discusses ambition, misogyny, double-standards in politics during podcast interview.

Meagan Harmon is Santa Barbara’s rising political star.

Fresh off her appointment to the California Coastal Commission, Harmon dives deep and beyond the surface in this exclusive podcast interview with journalist Josh Molina.

Beyond the political acumen and Ivy-league academic credentials, the 34-year-old Lompoc-born Harmon is also one of the county’s most intriguing personalities.

A mother, an attorney and a member of the Santa Barbara City Council, Harmon talks in this podcast about the challenges she faces as a young woman in politics, including battling misogyny and double standards. She also opens up about her miscarriages in 2020, and how she has managed to contend with that trauma while never stepping back from the public eye.

Harmon also opens up about building heights, her relationships with Mayor Cathy Murillo and Councilwoman Kristen Sneddon, the future of State Street, and so much more.
