The Santa Barbara Dons won two games Wednesday in the Channel League tournament to put themselves in Thursday’s championship game against Ventura at Oxnard High.

Ventura upset second-seeded San Marcos, 16-14, scoring two goals in the last 1:12.

Owen Fonua scored the go-ahead goal and Merrick Giles finished the game for the Cougars.

San Marcos rallied from a 13-10 deficit in the fourthe period. Luke Burns tied the score at 14-14.

Nic Prentice scored five goals and Charlie Franzen had three for the Royals

Franzen had five goals and Jordan Lind and A.J. Scarborough each scored three in an 18-6 rout of Oxnard.

Santa Barbara played several reserves in its 13-5 opening win over Pacifica. Sam Walker scored four goals and Oliver Kelly, Calvin Nelley, and West Graham added two goals each. Nikita Kolosov had seven saves.

In the semifinals, Santa Barbara beat Dos Pueblos 7-4.

Jerrad Burford led with four goals, two assists and two steals. John Shafer added two goals, and Ryder Green had a goal, an assist, and three steals. Goalie Jaxon Burford had 10 saves and a steal.

Santa Barbara led 6-2 at half time and was held to one goal in the second half.

Brody Luke had two goals for Dos Pueblos.

Dos Pueblos will play San Marcos for third place in the tournament at Oxnard High.
