Santa Barbara High’s baseball team won a 13-inning pitchers’ duel, prevailing over Bakersfield 3-2 on Tuesday at Eddie Mathews Field.

Wyatt Hastings, Michael Firestone, Kai Mault, Dane Dawson, and Jack Holland each had a hit for the Dons, with Mault scoring the winning run in the 13th.

Mault, a freshman, added two stolen bases.

Eric Anthony started on the mound for Santa Barbara, going four innings and allowing four hits and two runs, striking out four.

From there, Juan Perez and Tucker Dilbeck combined for 8.2 innings of shutout ball.

Combined, the Dons held Bakersfield to seven hits in the 13-inning game.

For Bakersfield, starter Cristian Perez went seven and a third innings, allowing just two hits and two runs with no walks. Sebastian Alvidrez threw five and a third innings in relief.

Wyatt Ashe went 3-for-5 at the plate for Bakersfield.
