The Santa Barbara boys advanced to Wednesday’s quarterfinals of the South Torrance Tournament with two wins (1-0, 3-0) on Tuesday.

Facing Peninsula in the first game, the Dons’ Cason Goodman got at the end of a free kick from Sebastian Alvarez to score the goal that sealed the win.

Goodman then scored two of the Dons’ three goals in a win over Animo Leadership. Goodman first scored on an assist from Aidan Pomerantz. Santa Barbara then scored again in the 25th minute when Joaquin Greenberg beat the keeper on a one-on-one after taking a through ball from Carver Jensen.

Goodman scored again in the 59th minute on a header after taking a free kick from Sebastian Alvarez.

“Of course I am happy that we won, but I m more happy that we got clean sheets,” Santa Barbara coach Ricardo Alcaraz said. “We have been giving up a lot of goals from our mistakes.”
