Molli Kadlec got the Santa Ynez offense going with a double in the first inning and Cierra Cloud crushed a home run in the fifth to lead the Pirates to a 7-4 softball win over Cabrillo on Thursday.

Lauren Swing and Riley Vannasap each had two hits and Cloud belted a two-run homer in the fifth.

Swing earned the pitching win with a complete-game outing. She allowed four runs on five hits and struck out 11.

ShortstopVannasap and second baseman Aleena Madrid turned double plays in the sixth and seventh innings for the Pirates. 

“We played together and won together today,” coach Ashlee Madrid said. “Each player contributed for a true team win.”
