Santa Ynez’s Jackson Cloud threw a three-hit shutout, with eight strikeouts, to beat Dos Pueblos 3-0 in a Channel League game Friday.
“Jackson dominated from pitch one,” Pirates coach Warren Dickey said. “Commanded the strike zone. He has worked extremely hard and it is paying off. Really led his team!”
Santa Ynez scored all three runs in the fourth inning, with RBI by Bradley Blood and Caleb Cassidy.
Cloud went 2-for-2 at the plate.
The Pirates are now 2-1 in league play and 8-2 overall. Dos Pueblos is 1-2 and 3-6.
