The Santa Barbara Coasters 11U baseball team rolled to a gold bracket championship in the USSSA Santa Barbara Labor Day Tournament last weekend.

The Coasters went 4-0 on the weekend, outscoring their opponents by a margin of 44-10.

They kicked off pool play with an 11-2 victory over the Malibu Sharks, thanks in part to a seven-run outburst in the first inning.

Cameron Pierre went 3-for-3 in the tournament opener, while Wally Taylor tossed two scoreless innings.

The offense stayed hot in the second game of the weekend, leading the charge in a 16-3 win over Team Clutch of Santa Paula. RJ Hollowell, Ashton Miller and Taylor all went 3-for-3 in the victory.

On Sunday, the Coasters punched their ticket into the title game with a 9-2 victory over Blue Line National of Thousand Oaks.

Santa Barbara continued its offensive onslaught in the championship, collecting 10 hits as a team on its way to an 8-3 win over the California Bucs of Chatsworth. Miller led the offense by going 3-for-3, while Hollowell tossed five strong innings to earn the win.

The 11U Santa Barbara Coasters roster includes: Cameron Pierre, Ashton Miller, Henry Miller, RJ Hollowell, Jake Wallman, Wally Taylor, Cristian Perez, Boden Thompson, Makani Gillis, Andrew O’Brien, Brayden Montgomery, and Daniel Shaw. 

The team is managed by Christoph Pierre with coaches Mike Wallman, Rich Hollowell, Carlos Gillis, Simon O’Brien, and Heath Montgomery.
