Santa Barbara Community Rowing’s Jacie Dingman earned a fourth-place finish in the Women’s U17 Single at the US Rowing Youth National Championships last weekend in Sarasota, Florida.

Dingman, who just completed her sophomore year at Santa Ynez High, has now competed in the youth nationals for three straight years.

“I am really proud of Jacie’s performance,” Santa Barbara Community Rowing coach Gracie Barbara said. “She dealt with the humidity as well as weather delays and race cancellations.

“It was a tough weekend mentally and physically, but she still managed to race well and improve on last year’s result. She faced some stiff competition, but stayed focused and prepared throughout the four-day competition.”

Dingman was consistent throughout the national championships, placing fourth in the time trials, fifth in the semifinals and fourth in the final race.

Santa Barbara Community Rowing is a rowing organization based at Cachuma Lake. For more information, including summer camps for youth ages 11+, visit https://www.rowsbc.org/.
