The Santa Barbara Legends Soccer Club Boys 2015 Elite team earned the championship win at the Oaks FC Tournament of Champions in Thousand Oaks this weekend.
The SB Legends 2015 team, made up of players ages 9 and 10, is a part of the Legends Futbol Academy.
The Legends began the weekend with a pair of dominant victories, taking down Newbury Park Elite FC Turbo, 8-2, before cruising to a 9-2 win over Oaks FC B15 Red.
They followed up that performance with a 5-0 shutout victory over Juventus DNA to punch their ticket to the championship match.
In the championship, Santa Barbara’s defense stayed strong and pulled out a 2-0 win over the Sporting SoCal Spartans 2015.
The team consists of Brandon “BB” Medina, Adrian Schooler, Dani Ramirez, Dani Saldana, Emilio Huizar, Fin Otero, Jimmie Gallup, Lalo Hernandez, Moisés Gallegos, Taj Johar, Elliott Spells, Angel Garcia, Alex Rosales and Sterling Montgomery-Celmins.
The team is coached by Sully Samura and managed by Laurel Schooler.
