The Santa Barbara Tennis Club hosted the first annual Jack Trigueiro Tennis Tournament this past weekend, honoring the former Santa Barbara High Boys Tennis coach.

Trigueiro coached the Dons from 1965 to 1992, leading the program to 31 Channel League championships and 10 CIF-SS championships.

In the Men’s 50’s singles division, former SBCC Vaquero Ruston Slager defeated GK Fleming, a former UCSB Gaucho, for the championship, 7-6, 6-0.

Santa Barbara’s Reading Wilson captured the Men’s 60 singles title with a win over Hawaii’s Richard DeMuth, 6-2, 6-1.

The Men’s 50’s doubles ended with Art Lee and Tom Horton, former Dons tennis players, taking down Tom Tolles and Martin Schuetz, 6-1, 6-4.
