The 13-under girls basketball team from Santa Barbara Pro Skills Academy took first place at the SGV Aloha Challenge Tournament in Anaheim.
The team went 4-0 and beat the Pasadena Vikings in the championship game.
The academy’s 14U girls team went 2-2 in the tournament, dropping its last game to the team that won the title, the San Diego Sol.
”These players have come a long way from where they first started,” said coach Manny Murillo, the director of the academy. “Each player has improved tremendously due to their hard work and determination.”
Murillo trains athletes from the youth to professional level, including NBA and WNBA players.
The Pro Skills Academy is a non-profit basketball training program based out of Santa Barbara.
