Vaqueros’ setter and outside hitter Stephanie Groswirt has been recognized by the CCCWVCA as one of three players of the week for 3C2A women’s volleyball.
From the press release, “Groswirt, a 5-8 redshirt freshman from Bonita High in La Verne, performed her fourth triple-double of the season in a 4-set SBCC victory over Ventura. In that match, she landed 13 kills (hit .306) dished out 21 assists, and made 14 digs while also adding three blocks. Groswirt is the third different Vaquero to be honored as a POTW this season.”
“Steph is such a well-rounded player; she can do it all, and do it all well. She has been a constant force for us on the court this season, and I’m so happy to have her receive this recognition,” said head coach Kat Niksto.
Groswirt joins fellow SBCC volleyball players, Bayley Padia and Hazel Irving, to be honored this season.
The Vaqs are ranked No. 6 in the state and will travel to LA Pierce on Wednesday before returning to Robertson Gymnasium at UCSB to host Allan Hancock on Friday at 6 p.m. for the Dig Pink Night to help raise funds to support the local Breast Cancer Resource Center in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
