SBCC erupted for three goals in a five-minute span to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat Hancock, 3-2, in a Western State Conference men’s soccer game last Friday.

The Vaqueros improved to 5-3 in the WSC and 10-4-4 overall. Hancock is 2-5-1 and 3-12-3.

Timo Jansen, Dylan Rogers and Brandon Garcia De La Fuente the goals between the 22nd and 27th minutes for SBCC.

Hancock got one back in the final 15 minutes.

Bart Muns had two assists and Jansen picked up his team-best ninth assist of the season.

The Vaqueros will look to claim their third straight win in their next outing at LA Mission on Tuesday.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL IS 2-0

Isabella Favazzo came off the bench and scored a team-high 15 points, leading the SBCC women’s basketball team to a 61-49 win over Santa Ana at the Sports Pavilion last Friday.

Favazzo made 5 of 11 shots, all from three-point range.

Brianna Jacobs scored 11 points and Evan Carrejo and Lia Rodriguez each scored eight points.

The Vaqueros are now out to their second 2-0 start since 2014. They will play again Thursday-Saturday at the Riverside Tournament, beginning on Nov. 10  against the host Riverside Tigers.
