Bridget Kulesh, the head men’s volleyball coach at SBCC for the past three seasons, has been hired as an assistant coach with the men’s team at Ball State in Muncie, Indiana, SBCC announced.
Kulesh, who also served as an assistant with the SBCC women’s volleyball team, was part of four conference championships and seven postseason appearances across seven total seasons.
“She ran a Division I system at the junior college level,” SBCC women’s head coach Kat Niksto said. “She was setting her players up for the most success possible — to be able to transfer and seamlessly integrate into other programs.”
As the men’s coach, Kulesh led the Vaqueros to two straight state semifinal appearances (2025 and 2026), the program’s first conference title since 2005 and the most wins (19) since 1990.
Her tenure as head coach of the men’s team began in 2024 with a 9-9 record. The following year her squad improved to 16-8 (11-3 in conference), capped by a state quarterfinal win over conference foe Moorpark. This past season the Vaqueros went 19-5 overall, 12-2 in conference and won a state quarterfinal in five sets.
In both 2025 and 2026, Kulesh was named 3C2A Men’s Northern Division Coach of the Year.
Men’s volleyball at Ball State is a Division 1 program. The team earned a NCAA Tournament berth this past spring and beat Pepperdine to reach the semifinals.
