A woman was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon after the electric scooter she was riding collided with a vehicle in Isla Vista, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The crash occurred at about 5:20 p.m. on Sabado Tarde Road at the intersection of Camino del Sur, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Three women were riding the scooter at the time of the collision with a white Jeep, said Karen Cruz-Orduña, a Fire Department spokeswoman.

One of the scooter riders — a 19-year-old woman — was found unconscious in the roadway.

She regained consciousness but was “altered,” and was treated at the scene by firefighters and paramedics, Cruz-Orduña told Noozhawk.

She was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Her name and details on her condition were not available.

The other two scooter riders sustained minor “road rash” and scrapes, but were not treated or transported, Cruz-Orduña said.

The Jeep driver, whose name was not available, was not hurt.

The collision was under investigation by the CHP.
