Dos Pueblos golfer Scott Nightingale shot a 1-over 73 at Knollwood Golf Club in Granada Hills to lead the Chargers in a 377-408 win over Crespi High School.
“The guys played well, all shooting in the 70s at a course they haven’t played at before,” Dos Pueblos coach Kevin Ahlers said.
The Chargers improved to 6-1 overall and remain 3-0 in Channel League matches.
Nightingale earned five birdies in his team-low round.
“He credits his low score to hitting fairways on his tee shots,” Ahlers said.
Other Charger highlights:
Teddy Vigna and Colt Roberts both shot 74, Laith Reynolds 77 and Wyatt Gardiner 79.
Reynolds “made a 30-foot birdie putt on hole 4,” coach Ahlers said. “He also made a 20-foot putt for another birdie on 6.”
Vigna “hit his approach shot on 15 within three feet of the pin and made birdie.” Gardiner had three birdies, and “was striking the ball very well off of the tee.
“Colt Roberts has a very consistent round of 74 going one-under on the back.”
Dos Pueblos hosts Nordhoff on Thursday.
