The Folk Orchestra of Santa Barbara’s (FOSB) Scottish/Celtic concerts continues its 10th anniversary season with three shows, Nov. 6, 7 and 8, featuring the group’s blend of folk instruments and classical strings.

Featured songs include the famed “Skye Boat Song,” “Scotland the Brave,” and “Loch Lomond.”

The Friday, Nov. 6 show is at 7 p.m. at Santa Barbara Trinity Church, 1500 State St.; Saturday, Nov. 7, 4 p.m. at St. Mark’s-in-the-Valley Church, 2901 Nojoqui Ave., Los Olivos; and Sunday, Nov. 8, 4 p.m. at the group’s home venue, the Presidio Chapel, 123 E. Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara.

“We love playing at all three of these superb sites,” said Adam Phillips, FOSB founder/musical director (and singer and multi-instrumentalist). “And our fans really love these traditional Scottish and Celtic tunes. But we’ve got some new surprises in store, of course.”

One of those will be the debut of a new instrument, he said. The show will also include new music by Galen Fraser, son of Alasdair Fraser, a famed Scottish fiddler who has played with the FOSB in the past.

“If you’ve seen our shows before, you know how much fun we musicians have, and how much we love our audiences,” Phillips said. “And as always, we look forward to them singing along on several of the tunes.”
