For those who have been thinking about starting a garden, the city of Goleta and UC Master Gardener Program are offering a beginner series to help community members grow their own vegetables with confidence.

The classes will be 1-3 pm. Saturdays, March 7, 14, 21 and 28 at Armitos Park Community Garden, near the intersection of S. Kellogg Avenue and Armitos Avenue in Old Town Goleta.

The program will cover site selection, soil testing, composting, and what, when and how to plant.

Advanced registration is required and spots are limited. Participants must be able to attend all four classes to register.
