The three local Channel League girls volleyball teams and two from the Tri-Valley League hit the road while Carpinteria and Providence drew home matches for the first round of the CIF-SS playoffs next week.
First-round matches are on Thursday.
Santa Barbara High (18-9), which finished third in the Channel League, plays a Division 3 opener at always-tough Pasadena Poly (18-5), the champion of the Prep League.
Also in D3, San Marcos (20-11, Channel No. 4) takes on Gold Coast champion and division second seed Campbell Hall (27-4) in Studio City.
In Division 4, Dos Pueblos, the Channel League runner-up, will travel to Thousand Oaks (19-4, Marmonte No. 2), while Bishop Diego (19-13, Tri-Valley No. 2) plays at Coastal Canyon-champion Royal (23-6) in Simi Valley.
Cate (10-7, Tri-Valley No. 3) received the No. 4 seed in Division 6 but must travel to Golden West League winner Ocean View (11-9) on Thursday.
Carpinteria (15-8) made a huge turnaround this season and finished second in the Citrus Coast League. The Warriors were rewarded with a first-round home match in Division 8 against Santa Clara of Oxnard (7-11, Frontier No. 3).
In Division 9, Providence (8-3) gets to play a home playoff in its own gym for the first time. The champions of the Condor League will host the winner of a Tuesday wild-card match between University Prep and Lucerne Valley.
Channel League-champion Ventura (24-4) is the top seed in Division 5 and opens the playoffs at home against Corona (21-16, Big 8 at large).
Second-round matches are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21
