Several people were displaced by an apartment fire early Saturday in Lompoc.
Firefighters were dispatched at about 2:15 a.m. to the fire on the 1300 block of North L Street, according to Battalion Chief Cody Lee of the Lompoc Fire Department.
“First arriving units advised heavy smoke and fire coming from a first floor apartment with extension to the second floor,” Lee said. “Crews made aggressive fire attack and searched for potential victims.”
The flames were reported knocked down in about 20 minutes, Lee said, adding that there were no injuries.
The American Red Cross was called in to assist the displaced residents.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
