San Marcos freshman Shams Jahangir-Arshad shot a two-under 69 for medalist honors as the Royals boys finished a 10-0 Channel League season — 15-0 overall — with a win over Dos Pueblos at Glen Annie Wednesday, 397-441.
Jahangir-Arshad was on a tear through the back nine, Royals coach Jeff Ashton said.
“Shams shot 5-under on the back nine to earn medalist honors today,” Swann said. “He had a three-hole stretch that he was 4-under. He birdied 12 and 13 and eagled number 14.”
Leo Metzger added a 72 and Jeffrey Forster a 78 for San Marcos.
“Today was a great finish to our season, as we managed to stay undefeated and take the channel league championship,” Ashton said. “I have been really proud of and impressed with the athletes all season.”
The Channel League Individuals will be held next week on Monday and Tuesday, and on June 7 the Royals will compete in the CIF-SS team championship.
