At around 2:10 p.m., deputies contacted a 15-year-old male juvenile on Hollister Avenue west of Turnpike Road, who matched the description of a suspect involved in the assault.
The youth was found to be in possession of a concealed fixed-blade knife, the Sheriff’s Office reports. He was cited for the concealed knife, as well as possession of a knife on school campus. He was released to a guardian, and his case has been forwarded to juvenile probation.
Through their investigation, deputies identified another 15-year-old male juvenile as the primary suspect in the knife attack. A judge approved an arrested warrant for him, and at about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 29, deputies located and arrested him in the 100 block of S. Turnpike Road.
The juvenile was booked at the Santa Maria Juvenile Hall for attempted murder, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
