The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office thanks the allied agencies that assisted in this year’s Halloween Operations. The overall statistics seem to be following the recent past and reflected a continued downward trend in attendance and criminal activity.

This year the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office used funds from a grant provided by Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) to help with costs associated with staffing the event. The grant funding was used by the Sheriff’s Office to provide added enforcement for alcohol-related crimes in the Isla Vista and Goleta areas.

This year’s operational period covered Oct. 25-26, October 31, and Nov. 1-2. The breakdown of arrests and citations are below. A majority of the arrests and citations were for noise violation and alcohol-related offenses.

October 25-26 — 4 arrests, 26 citations, 3 incident reports.

Oct. 31 — 2 arrests, 18 citations, 0 incident reports.

Nov. 1-2 — 0 arrests, 5 citations, 0 incident reports.
