Six of the local high school girls tennis teams will look to carry their regular-season success into the CIF-SS postseason beginning next week.

Cate, Dos Pueblos, San Marcos, Santa Barbara High, Laguna Blanca and Carpinteria High will represent the Santa Barbara area in the CIF-SS girls tennis playoffs, with all teams beginning their title quests on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m.

The Cate Rams are fresh off a 14-0 regular season and a Tri-Valley League title, earning a spot in the CIF-SS Division 2 bracket and a home playoff opener.

The Rams will roll out the welcome mats for Beckman, who placed third in the South Coast League at 11-9.

Dos Pueblos was the local team with the next highest ranking, slotting into Division 4 after going 12-1 in the regular season and capturing the Channel League championship.

The Chargers are set to host Garden Grove on Wednesday, which went 12-4 and came in third in the Empire League.

The trio of San Marcos, Santa Barbara High and Laguna Blanca will all compete for the Division 5 crown. While Laguna Blanca is on the other side of the bracket, the Royals and Dons would face off in the quarterfinals if they both win their first two playoff contests.

San Marcos, which went 5-5 and placed third in the Channel League, will be on the road for the first round against the Academy for Academic Excellence, which is fresh off a 15-0 regular season and a Desert Sky title.

Santa Barbara High will also be on the road for its opener, taking on Alliance League champion Arroyo (15-6). The Dons finished the regular season at 10-11 and came in second in the Channel League.

The Owls will face a familiar foe in the first round, hosting St. Bonaventure on Wednesday in Hope Ranch. The Seraphs went 14-4 to win the Frontier League title, while Laguna Blanca took second in the Tri-Valley League at 9-2.

Carpinteria High rounds out the local teams in Division 6 following a Citrus Coast League championship and an 11-6 regular season. The Warriors will host Whittier, which went 11-4-1 and recorded a second-place finish in the Rio Vista League.
