Roller skaters, scooter riders, skateboarders and cyclists are all invited to Skate and Scoot, a free community event, 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30 at Elings Park.
The event is held in the parking lots adjacent to the park’s administration building. The weekend parking fee is $6. For more, visit www.elingspark.org.
“If it is person-powered and has wheels, you can ride it at this new event,” said Dean Noble, park executive director. “We’re going to roll into the sunset together at Elings Park.
“It’s the perfect way to top off the Thanksgiving weekend.”
Food is available for purchase at Big Joe’s Tacos, and adult beverages (ages 21+) from Yellow Belly Tap. Participants can enjoy performances by The Bubble Guy and visit All Booked Up mobile bookstore.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025, Elings Park is the largest privately funded public park in the country. More than two times the size of Disneyland, Elings Park on the Santa Barbara Mesa features sweeping views and picturesque oak groves, and offers a place to enjoy recreation, arts and nature.
Elings Park is made possible by community donations and receives no regular government funding. Visit www.ElingsPark.org.
