Firefighters quickly doused two deliberately set fires in a restroom building at Girsh Park in Goleta on Thursday afternoon, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The blazes were reported at about 2:40 p.m., and crews arrived to find light smoke coming from the building at the west end of the park, fire Engineer Mike Gray told Noozhawk.
Trash in the building was set ablaze in what fire officials are terming arson fires, Gray said.
The flames were knocked down in about 10 minutes, and an investigator was called in to determine the exact cause and search for clues to whoever was responsible.
The brick building sustained minor smoke damage, but otherwise was unscathed, Gray said.
