The SoCal Women’s Pro Flag Football League will delay its inaugural season to May of 2027, and has announced an All-Star Tour in the summer of 2026 that will come to Santa Barbara.

The delay is due to “the overwhelming response from players and potential league investors,” according to the league website.

The league, which will be the first-ever professional women’s flag football league, will create its own All-Star Team that will travel to all eight Southern California counties to take on All-Star teams representing their specific county.

The All-Star teams will consist of nine players who will be chosen following tryouts this April. Each county will have its team coached by a high school flag football coach.

SoCal Women’s Pro Flag Football League owner Roy Englebrecht told Noozhawk that the league is currently in the process of selecting each of the team’s coaches.

Englebrecht views this summer’s All-Star Tour as a “test market” for players, coaches, fans, sponsors and media ahead of next year’s full first season.

Players and coaches during the All-Star Tour this summer will be compensated for their participation. The amount of compensation is to be determined.
