A Falcon 9 rocket launch to deliver 26 Starlink satellites into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base has been delayed indefinitely.
Once aiming for mid-day Saturday and then Sunday, the mission disappeared from the list of upcoming launches provided by SpaceX.
Additionally, federal notices alerting pilots to looming launch plans have been removed without a mention of a new targeted attempt.
SpaceX did not explain the reason for the delay.
On Friday, Lompoc Valley residents noticed SpaceX conducted a static fire test which involves counting down and firing the engines while the rocket remains standing at Space Launch Complex-4.
That test to check various systems and detect any possible problems apparently went well enough that SpaceX confirmed intentions to attempt to launch the rocket this weekend.
While Vandenberg’s launch has been delayed, another Falcon mission from Florida delivered 29 Starlink satellites into orbit as planned early Sunday morning.
