Weather has again foiled the Falcon 9 rocket team’s plans for a launch at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

“Due to unfavorable recovery weather conditions today, team is resetting Falcon 9’s launch of Starlink,” Space Exploration Technologies representatives said Thursday.

Liftoff will aim for 10:38 a.m. Friday from Space Launch Complex-4 on South Base.

The rocket will carry 51 Starlink satellites into orbit.

SpaceX bypassed the morning launch attempt Thursday and hoped to be able to get the rocket off the ground during a Thursday afternoon opportunity before postponing the mission to Friday.

Unfavorable weather and conflicts with an East Coast launch have led to other delays for the team since Monday.

For the West Coast Starlink mission, the first-stage booster, which has flown 11 missions previously, from both Vandenberg and Florida, will land on the drone ship Of Course I Still Love You positioned in the Pacific Ocean.

Deployment of the satellites will occur slightly more than 15 minutes after liftoff, according to SpaceX.

A live broadcast of the mission can be found about five minutes before the Vandenberg launch time on the SpaceX website or its YouTube channel.
