The Marjorie Luke Theatre will open its 2026 season with a Spring Gardening Festival & Marketplace, Sunday, April 12.

The event is presented in a partnership with Santa Barbara Botanic Garden as part of the Theatre’s Green Film Series. The season kick-off event brings together film, community, and environmental education.

The Community Marketplace at 2:30 p.m. will feature eco-friendly businesses and nonprofit organizations offering practical ways to create more sustainable landscapes.

Following the marketplace at 4 p.m., four short films will be screened, produced by Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, illustrating a real-life native plant transformation project at Santa Barbara’s Eling’s Park.

After the films, former Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider will moderate a panel with local environmental experts.

“The Spring Gardening Festival & Marketplace reflects The Luke’s ongoing commitment to presenting programming that highlights environmental issues while fostering community dialogue,” organizers said.
