Following the momentum of the recent Hands Off! action, local organizers are calling on residents to come together again, this time to deepen connections and organize at the community level.
Simultaneous Community Gatherings will be held in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Isla Vista, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 19.
Local event organizers include Women’s March Santa Barbara, Indivisible Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Women’s Political Committee, Planned Parenthood and PFLAG Santa Barbara.
“The events are designed to create space for conversations, grassroots strategy, and mutual support in as we build a stronger, people-powered movement,” organizers said.

“With national organizers encouraging a pause before the next large-scale mobilization, the focus has shifted toward strengthening local relationships. This Saturday offers a rare and meaningful opportunity to do just that,” said Women’s March Santa Barbara.
“We’re not coming together to hear from experts; we’re coming together to hear from each other,” said one organizer. “This is about mutual listening, shared ideas, and collective strength.”
Organizers will be present, not to lead or lecture, but to listen and participate in the spirit of collaboration and community, Women’s March Santa Barbara noted.
“Many are eager for the next march, and this moment of local organizing ensures we’ll be ready. A strong foundation of trust, strategy, and solidarity will make our next steps even more impactful,” Women’s March Santa Barbara said.
