A 24-year-old man was taken to the hospital Saturday night after he was stabbed in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Police and other emergency personnel were dispatched at about 8 p.m. to the incident at the corner of State and Mason streets, near the Hotel Californian, Cmdr. Kasi Corbett told Noozhawk.

She said the victim was taken by American Medical Response ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries.

His identity was not released and details on his condition were not available.

As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests had been made in the stabbing, Corbett said. A description of the suspect or suspects was not disclosed.

“At this time, we do not have information that this is gang-related activity,” she added.
