A 21-year-old man was taken to the hospital early Sunday after being stabbed on the city’s Eastside, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Officers were dispatched at about 1:20 a.m. to the 300 block of North Milpas Street on a report of an assault involving a knife, Lt. Antonio Montojo said.

They found the victim, whose name was not released, in a parking lot, Monojo said.

The man was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Details on his condition were not available.

Police did not say whether they had any suspects in the stabbing, or whether any arrests had been made.

“ There is no ongoing threat to public safety and the investigation is ongoing,” Montojo said.
