Two men were critically injured early Sunday in an altercation in downtown Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Officers responded at about 3:15 a.m. to the fight involving two groups of people near the 500 block of State Street, said Sgt. Ethan Ragsdale.
They found two men who had suffered stab wounds — one on the first block of East Cota Street and the other on the first block of East Ortega Street, Ragsdale said.
“Paramedics transported both victims to Cottage Hospital for treatment, where they were reported to be stable but in critical condition” on Monday evening, Ragsdale said.
No arrests were made, and the incident remained under investigation, Ragsdale said.
He added that it is not known whether the altercation was gang-related.
