The local high school girls soccer season supplied entertaining matches throughout the winter, and much of that entertainment came courtesy of standout student-athletes.

The Dos Pueblos Chargers, San Marcos Royals and Santa Barbara High Dons all collected several All-Channel League honors for their strong showings.

Dos Pueblos (13-5-5, 8-3-3 CL)

The Chargers were the lone local team to reach the CIF-SS playoffs, thanks in part to standout All-Channel League First Team seasons from senior defender Kacey Hurley and sophomore forward Alina Seidel.

Senior defender Anastasia Brunner and sophomore midfielder Paige Ferro also shined to help lead Dos Pueblos into the postseason, earning All-Channel League Second Team honors.

The junior pairing of Hazel Burgess and Jenny Polunets rounded out the team’s All-League selections with All-Channel League Honorable Mentions.

San Marcos (6-9-3, 5-6-3 CL)

Senior center midfielder Zeina Matni did it all for the Royals throughout the season, and she was rewarded as the team’s lone representative on the All-Channel League First Team.

Meanwhile, senior defensive midfielder Rio Chesluk and junior center back Lulu Aurell had standout seasons and garnered All-League Second Team nods.

Senior forward Kate Selby and senior left back Stephanie Carranza brought their San Marcos careers to a close in style, earning All-Channel League Honorable Mentions.

Santa Barbara High (3-9-6, 2-8-4 CL)

Sophomore goalkeeper Alice Sweeney kept the Dons competitive in many matches this season, playing her way onto the All-Channel League First Team.

Santa Barbara High senior defender Sofia Lopez and junior center midfielder Madeleine Savellano also played key roles in keeping games close, picking up All-League Second Team selections.

The center midfield duo of junior Lanaya Solis and freshman Cora Heckes capped off the local honors with All-League Honorable Mention campaigns.
