State Parks closed dozens of parks across California this week due to storm impacts, including Gaviota State Park, Refugio State Beach and Carpinteria State Beach in southern Santa Barbara County.
At Carpinteria State Beach, the front row of the Santa Rosa campground loop is closed through at least Friday due to high surf and potential flooding, according to State Parks.
Gaviota State Park and Refugio State Beach areas including day use and campgrounds were closed this week because of evacuation orders issued for the Alisal Fire burn scar on the Gaviota Coast.
Gaviota State Park day use areas will reopen Friday morning and the campground will remain closed for its seasonal closure.
Refugio State Beach’s campground will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday and the day use area will remain closed for clean-up, according to State Parks.
Nearby El Capitán State Beach, which is east of the burn area, was open as of Thursday.
