Chloe Hoffman had 16 kills, five digs and an ace as Dos Pueblos swept Rio Mesa, 25-11, 25-15, 25-17, Thursday in a Channel League match at home.
Many other contributions went into the win, including Malia Brofferio’s 15 digs, four kills, three aces and block, and Halle Rillie’s 29 assists, seven digs, four kills, two aces and a block.
“Tonight’s win was a total team effort,” Charger coach Megan O’Carroll said. “Every single player on our team entered the match and did something to contribute to our success. I’m really proud of the effort and energy we were able to maintain throughout the whole match.”
Jayden Jones added seven digs, two blocks and an assist, and O’Carroll gave a shoutout to the efforts of two freshmen: Grace Posey’s three kills and three blocks and Addison Low’s two kills and an ace.
I’m super proud of the efforts of our two freshmen middles — Grace Posey and Addison Low,” O’Carroll said. “We wanted to run them a ton tonight, and they worked really hard to make lots of entries and take a bunch of swings.”
The Chargers are now 4-1 in league play and 8-3 overall.
