A fire damaged a Montecito home’s garage on Olive Mill Road Monday afternoon, officials said.

“They knocked it down pretty quickly,” Montecito Fire Protection District spokeswoman Christina Atchison told Noozhawk.

The blaze was reported in the garage on the 200 block of Olive Mill Road around 4:20 p.m.

Damage was limited to the garage, partly thanks to the garage’s sprinkler system, which dampened things pretty well, Atchison said.

No injuries were reported.

The Fire Department had an investigator at the scene Monday afternoon to look into the cause.

Responders closed Olive Mill Road between the Hot Springs Road triangle and the Coast Village Road roundabout because of the location of the fire.

The closure was “not ideal” for rush hour, but the California Highway Patrol expected to reopen the road soon, Atchison told Noozhawk at about 5:15 p.m.

Crews from the Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District also responded to the blaze.

No further details were available.
