Fourth District Santa Barbara County Supervisor Bob Nelson has been named first vice chair of the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC).
Nelson joins Mariposa County Supervisor Miles Menetrey, who will serve as chair; Napa County Supervisor Anne Cottrell, second vice chair; and Modoc County Supervisor Geri Byrne, immediate past chair.
The newly installed 2026 officers will lead the organization in championing public policies on behalf of California’s rural counties.
“I am deeply honored to be selected for this leadership role, and I want to extend my sincere gratitude to my colleagues for their confidence and trust,” said Nelson.
“As we look ahead, I am excited to continue the work we’ve begun together, strengthening partnerships, advancing rural priorities, and ensuring that our collective voice carries weight where it matters most.
“Together, we will champion policies that uplift our communities and help secure a stronger, more vibrant future for all who call rural California home,” he said.
RCRC’s Board of Directors is headed by four officers composed of elected county supervisors from the organization’s 40 member counties. Santa Barbara County has been a member of RCRC since 2021.
