A woman has been arrested in connection with the killing of a woman in Vandenberg Village near Lompoc, Raquel Zick, spokeswoman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, said Saturday night.
Sheriff’s deputies responded at approximately 6:45 a.m. Saturday to the area of Sami Lane and Khouri Circle for a report of suspicious circumstances.
“Through their investigation, deputies discovered an adult female homicide victim inside a residence on Khouri Circle,” Zick said.
Detectives identified and arrested an adult female suspect who was known to the victim, Zick said.
Brooke Carter, 46, from Lompoc and Oklahoma, was arrested in connection with the killing, Zick added.
Carter has been booked at the Northern Branch Jail where she is being held on $2 million bail.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until her family members have been notified, Zick said.
Detectives believe there are no outstanding suspects in this case, Zick said, and the Sheriff’s Office will share information as it becomes available.
