A suspect was reportedly taken into custody Wednesday night after a wildfire burned about 1 acre in El Capitan Canyon on the Gaviota Coast.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported that the blaze was in the canyon above El Capitan Resort and did not threaten any structures.
It was reported at 6:12 p.m. Firefighters stopped the forward progress of the blaze around 7:40 p.m.
A suspect was arrested by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and taken into custody by California State Parks personnel, county fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
