Dos Pueblos

Dos Pueblos girls and boys swimmers beat Ventura in a dual Channel League meet Tuesday, both by scores of 90-80. The boys stay undefeated at 6-0, while the girls improve to 5-1.

The DP girls, coach Kendall Kuga said, “had a strong showing today with key wins to defeat Ventura.”

The medley relay team of Megan Garner, Kay Taylor-Ng, Brynn Graham and Ava Bennett improved on their CIF qualifying time and took first place.

Individual event winners included Graham (200 IM and 100 free), Garner (100 back) and Natalie Murray (500 free). The girls also won the 200 free relay, which included Garner, Bennett, Emma Gilbert & Addison Parrish.

“What really helped the girls earn the win were all of the second, third and fourth place finishers who beat out Ventura for those points,” Kuga said. “The girls raced well and the B relays came through to get those extra points.”

The Dos Pueblos boys stay undefeated in dual meets with a close one against Ventura.

Nikko Carrillo and Cooper Costello were dual event winners, Bennett Sullivan took first in the 100 breast and third in the 500 free. Liam Sommer took second in the 100 fly and fourth in the 100 back.
