The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department invites the community to start the new year outdoors with a free guided New Year’s Day hike, 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1 at Los Flores Ranch Park, 6245 Dominion Road.

Two family friendly hikes will be offered for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, as a good way to exercise and enjoy the natural beauty of Los Flores Ranch Park.

The hike is two miles round trip, or participants can challenge themselves with a more strenuous 4.5-mile roundtrip hike. Both excursions will offer an energizing outdoor experience with scenic views.

The park will be open exclusively for the guided New Year’s Day hikes. Visitors are urged to check Los Flores Ranch Park Facebook page for real-time updates and announcements.
